Instructions

Gameplay in TapVaders is controlled through a single input method: tapping or clicking on the screen. The player’s cannon is positioned at the bottom of the playfield and moves horizontally to the exact location of the tap or click. The cannon automatically fires a single projectile upward each time the player taps or clicks. There is no continuous fire mode; each shot requires a distinct input. The alien formation consists of rows of enemies that move left and right in unison, descending one row after each full lateral cycle. The player must destroy all aliens in a level to advance. Aliens occasionally fire slow-moving projectiles downward. The player’s cannon is destroyed upon contact with any alien projectile or an alien itself, resulting in an immediate game over. The player is granted three lives per session, with no continues or extra lives awarded. Scoring is based on the type of alien destroyed: smaller, faster aliens at the top of the formation award 30 points, mid-row aliens award 20 points, and larger, slower aliens at the bottom award 10 points. A bonus of 100 points is awarded for destroying the entire formation without losing a life. The game features a single control interface: a touchscreen or mouse pointer. No keyboard, gamepad, or tilt controls are supported. The pause function is activated by tapping a small icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
