Exiting the column requires steering away from its center. The camera is fixed behind the character and cannot be manually rotated. The only other control is a single key or button press to initiate a “tuck” maneuver, which reduces the character’s profile and increases forward speed for a short duration, at the cost of a small amount of altitude. Landing is automatic when the character contacts a solid surface at a low angle of descent. There is no pause function; the game runs in real-time from launch until the player reaches a beacon or crashes into a surface at a high velocity, which resets the session to the last visited beacon. No heads-up display or on-screen indicators are provided.
