Description
Nibblix is a single-player, grid-based puzzle game released in 1987 for the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. The game was developed by the British studio Vortex Software. The player controls a small, round, blue creature called a Nibblix, which inhabits a series of two-dimensional, top-down mazes. The objective of each level is to consume all the small, white pellets scattered across the maze while avoiding contact with hostile, red, triangular entities known as Grinders. The maze walls are composed of a single, continuous line of dark blue blocks. A unique feature of Nibblix is that the player can temporarily break these walls by passing through them, causing the wall segment to disappear for a short duration before regenerating. This mechanic allows the Nibblix to create shortcuts or escape routes, but it also enables Grinders to pass through the same gaps. The game features 32 levels, each with an increasingly complex maze layout and a higher number of Grinders. A score is awarded for each pellet consumed, with bonus points granted for completing a level. The game ends when the Nibblix makes contact with a Grinder, resulting in the loss of one of three lives.

Instructions
Gameplay is controlled via a joystick or keyboard. The Nibblix moves in four cardinal directions: up, down, left, and right. The creature moves continuously in the chosen direction until a new direction is input or it collides with a solid wall. To break a wall segment, the player must direct the Nibblix into a wall block. Upon contact, the block flashes and disappears for approximately two seconds, creating a temporary passage. The player must navigate through the maze to collect all pellets. Grinders move in a fixed, pre-determined pattern along the maze corridors. The player must avoid these patterns or use the wall-breaking mechanic to create barriers or escape routes. There is no pause function. The game interface displays the current level number, the player's score, and the number of remaining lives at the top of the screen. The game begins immediately upon loading, with no title screen or menu.
