The player assumes the role of a Poman warrior who has been granted immortality by the tree’s core, tasked with defending the orchard from the Rot, a corrupting force that turns fruit into hostile, fungal monsters. The narrative unfolds across five distinct biomes, each themed after a different fruit type, such as the Citrus Citadel and the Berry Bog. The game employs a cel-shaded art style with vibrant, saturated colors to contrast the organic environments against the Rot’s decaying textures. Combat is real-time and focuses on melee attacks, dodging, and a unique “Ripening” mechanic, where the player’s power increases as they absorb essence from defeated enemies. Instructions
Gameplay and controls are centered on third-person perspective combat and exploration. The player character moves with the left analog stick or W, A, S, D keys. The right analog stick or mouse controls the camera. The primary attack is executed with the right trigger or left mouse button, performing a standard slash. A heavy attack, triggered by the right bumper or right mouse button, charges for a more powerful strike but leaves the player vulnerable. Dodging is performed with the circle button or Shift key, granting a brief window of invulnerability. The Ripening mechanic is activated by holding the left trigger or the Q key, which slows time and allows the player to target a specific enemy’s core; releasing the trigger executes a critical hit that restores health. The player can switch between two weapon types, a blade and a staff, using the triangle button or the 1 and 2 keys. The staff provides longer reach but slower attack speed. Consumable items, such as healing nectar and temporary damage boosts, are mapped to the D-pad or the 3, 4, and 5 keys. The inventory and skill tree are accessed via the touchpad or the Tab key, pausing the game. Environmental interactions, such as climbing vines or activating fruit shrines, require pressing the X button or the E key. The game supports both keyboard and mouse and controller configurations, with full remapping available in the settings menu.
